The Majority Says “Yes” – 66%

The Skeptics – No 17%

On the flip side, 17% of respondents don’t think OEM certifications significantly affect their market value. They argue that real-world experience and a broad skill set can be just as valuable as specialized training. In an industry that is always changing, adaptability can sometimes outweigh specialization.

The Undecided – Don’t Know: 17%

Another 17% of respondents were unsure about the impact of OEM certifications. This could indicate a lack of sufficient data on career progression with and without these credentials or simply an uncertainty about the future of the industry and the role that certifications will play in it.

For auto insurers, a technician with OEM certifications may represent a lower risk profile, potentially leading to collaborations or partnerships with automotive repair companies.
